Part of All Coin Collections: Silver Halves
I used to collect coins as a kid, but grew out of the hobby after selling my collection for some needed cash. In a way, I wish I had never done that. But as it’s commonly said, hindsight is 20/20. Anyway, one afternoon my older son comes home from school and asked me if I had ever collected coins. Of course I told him the truth and then asked why he wanted to know. “We had a show and share in class today and one of my classmates brought in a silver half dollar and a bunch of other coins. I thought they were cool,” he said. Then he added, “I’d like to start a coin collection. Can I?” — “Sure, I can help you get started.”
