Headhunters For CFO

If you receive a call from a headhunter you should find out how the recruiter is getting paid and doing the job.  How the recruiter is being paid may affect the way you are portrayed in the job market.  If you are a CFO then you want the recruiter to take the time to perform high-level searches.  A retained firm, that is a firm that pays their recruiters regardless if the position is filled, offers a more in depth process with an analysis of the market.  If you are a CFO you cannot afford to spend time with a headhunter that is only going to distribute your resume to a large number of employers to see who bites.
