Effective time management for yourself

Learning to manage yourself is an important first step in effective time management. Every day new tasks will present themselves and knowing how to deal with them will go a long way towards helping you to manage your time. However, there is one effective time management method for dealing with all of these tasks. Let me introduce you to the four Ds of self-management. They are:  Do it - For tasks that need doing now. If something can not wait schedule to complete it as soon as you can.  Delegate it - You don’t need to do everything yourself. If a task isn’t the best use of your time get someone else to do it.  Dump it - If something isn’t important to you or really isn’t worth doing you should dump it.  Defer it - If something needs doing but you don’t have to do it straight away, you should defer it.
