Competition for tourism in western Iowa heats up

The western Iowa tourism dollar will be mostly spent on advertising this year if a group touting Iowa over Nebraska has it’s way.  The friendly rival group in Nebraska is hoping the same for that state. There was a friendly bet made that the gains in one state would increase markedly more than the other and the Iowa group thinks the way to do it is with advertising. They are asking that those that have attractions in the western part of the state double their advertising for the six months before the contest is decided. Reactions from the retailers are mixed.
